| Citation | Dr. Alan Rudge is distinguished for his contributions to the analysis and design of reflector antennas with particular application to space systems. His work has led to new forms of reflector and feed design offering improvements in sidelobe and polarization performance - key parameters in this environment. He is also the instigator, principal editor and an author of a two-volume 1600 page Antenna Handbook, which has rapidly become a key international reference work. Over the past decade Dr. Rudge has displayed outstanding technical leadership in the organization and management of ERA Technology, which has developed into a major contract R and D Laboratory with a substantial international reputation in electrical engineering. Dr. Rudge has had a major personal role in this success and continues to contribute scientifically in the antenna field. Dr Rudge joined British Telecom in 1987. He is currently managing director Development & Procurement & Main Board director with responsibilities for R & D, IT and procurement. |
