| Citation | Professor Noble is known internationally for her research in two important areas of medical imaging: cardiovascular image analysis and ultrasound image analysis. She has been actively promoting ultrasound as a quantitative imaging modality for over a decade and has defined new limits in our understanding of how to use and improve ultrasound methods, which can provide very poor quality information, as a clinical information source. Most significantly she has introduced new approaches to spatio-temporal model-based analysis of ultrasound imagery, fusion echocardiography, and ultrasound-based tissue characterization techniques, all of which have been taken through from concept to clinical translation. |
