DescriptionThe file contains notes relating to travel arrangements for the expedition members to get to and from the Solomon Islands. The notes are most likely to have been made by George Hemmen or Christine Johnson, who helped to organise the Royal Society expeditions. Included in the file are typed travel itineraries for expedition members, a number of fare quotations and correspondence between the Royal Society, expedition members, and Ashton, Mitchell and Howlett, an international travel service. There are also letters between the Society and the Australian High Commissioner regarding endorsment for travel to Papua and New Guinea, along with a blank permit application.
