Title | Letter from W [William] Whewell, T L [Trinity Lodge, Cambridge], to [Sir John Frederick William] Herschel |
Creator | Whewell; William (1794-1866); British mathematician |
Date | 27 May 1864 |
Description | He returns Book 7 of 'The Iliad' with a few unimportant notes. It seems nearly as good as the rest, but he thinks that Homer is lesser in this book. Whewell has no time to read it carefully, for they are preparing for their Prince and Princess. He hopes the marriage was a pleasant day, sending good wishes, including that that both Herschel and Lady Herschel are better. |
