Title | Letter from John Herschel, Badgaon, to [Mary Cornwallis Herschel] |
Creator | Herschel; John (1837-1921); British army officer and astronomer |
Date | 19 [April 1872] |
Description | It was good of Mary to write again on the 13th. He is anxious that she should be kept informed, as he has ceased directing mail to Ootacamund. He has managed one night of ten hours' work, and hopes for one week of good weather. He has sent four numbers to Bangalore, if she wishes to read more about Tichborne. He now hopes to be back by 10 May and assumes that she will get back home. His present environment is moderate, he is well, and has plenty of occupation. He concludes at 5.00am to get sleep, and sends a 'Fortnightly'. |
