He has had a tender letter from cousin Mary, which he will forward. 'Nature' has informed them of Alex's [Alexander Stewart Herschel's] progress at Newcastle. William has sent no particular message to Lloyd. He has heard nothing of Johnny '[John Herschel] being asked to finish off [James Palladio] Basevi's work. Willy Stewart has started up-country and William managed a little talk with him. He gives brief accounts of the children. |
