CreatorSee; Thomas Jefferson Jackson (1866-1962); American astronomer
Date29 December 1911
DescriptionHe is grateful for Herschel's letter and for the signature of his grandfather. He is glad that the reprinting of the papers [of William Herschel] is going well and he will do all he can to aid sales in America, noting his own lecture on Herschel which is to be printed. He is proud to be able to contribute to Herschel's memory and refers to his association with Sir William Huggins in getting matters started. He suggests that the memoir of Caroline Herschel, published by Sir William's mother, should be included with the collected works. He intends to write to Dr Dreyer on this point.

With a note on a draft reply from Sir William Herschel, 11 January 1912.
