Sir John Hoskins said that he was told that in some parts of Spaine, they keep corn by putting some Earth to it which he believed might be jesso[?]

Sir Robert Southwell said he saw some wheat of 90 years old, about Brandenburgh, kept in the Fort of Kushing.

The same said that in the Island of Elephante there are Elephants carved in the rocks.

And Mr Tresode [?] by Dr Hutton

Mr Hill said the Iron stand dust from the E. Indies, which we use upon Letters is Magnetical

Mr Hunt Shewed the Experiment of Some of the Samd from Virginia, with the magnet, and it was drawn by it.

A letter from Dr Musgrave to Dr Hicks, dated from April 28 1699 was communicated by Dr Sloane concerning the piece of Antiquity mentioned in Transactions No 247 with this Inscriptio[Inscriptionnot listed]

Mr Halley shewed part of a viviparous plant as he called it, which grows by the salt wash side, called Guaparaira the Mangrove; Dr Sloane said it is mentioned and figured in the Hortus Malabarius.

Dr Hook sayes that mapole tree bears a key, and that in that key there is an hollowness, which has a young plant, with Branches, Leaves, Roots and Keys on it, visible to the Eye.

A Letter from Mr Monroe proposed that Dr Wilkins his Universal Character translated into Latin by Mr Ray, now in Dr Hook's hands, Should be priinted; was agreed to be proposed to Mr Leens now coming into England.

A Letter from Dr Boltonus to Dr Sloane, de Idea Histonica physica de Magna Trinacria terra motu, dated Messina December 1698 was read: The Doctor received no Manuscript with it.

Several Stones with impressions, Cornua Amonis et Scolops, and Nautilus's were Sent to Mr Smith in NiNibli (?) in Gloucestershir. He was thanked : these Stones were found in the digging of a cellar.
