The identification of London, Ontario, in then-Upper Canada, is based upon the concluding entry of the journal [p.64]: 'The winter of the disturbance at Navy Island, no journal kept', referring to the rebellion led by William Lyon Mackenzie, and his seizure of the island on the Niagara River, Ontario.
