Description | Daily temperature readings at Allahabad, using indoor and outside locations, and often multiple readings on the same day. With general remarks on the locations of the observations and occasional notes on the weather.
Commencing: 'Observations on heat and cold made by Sr. Robt. Barker in the East Indies in the Latitude of 25,,30 North: Longitude about eighty two degrees East of London situated at the Confluence of the rivers Ganges & Jumna [Yamuna] , computed to be 360 Miles So. Et. of Dehli. These Observations were taken by two of Fahrenheits Thermometers which agreed exactly with each other, the one placed within, the other without doors. And as the Extremes of Heat & Cold vary exceedingly in the Day & Night Many Observations were taken in the Course of 24 Hours, and each one with as much accuracy as possible. Particular Care being taken to prevent any Reflection or Other extra Heats, more than the Atmosphere itself, falling on the Thermoter...' |
