Description | Computations of tides, based upon original 18th century observations made by William Hutchinson, Dock Master at Liverpool, then in Lancashire, and later calculated by Jenkin Jones. Annual tables of high water at Liverpool Docks. Columns are not headed.
The original observations by Hutchinson are noted in the paper 'Discussion of tide observations made at Liverpool', by John William Lubbock, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, v.125 (1835), pp.275-299. Some of the tables appear in that paper.
The opening title [p.1] is inscribed [by John William Lubbock]: 'Liverpool Tide Computations. Part 3. Showing the Time & Strength of High Water with the Sun's & Moon's Declinations & the Moon's Horizontal Parallax corresponding to all the Transits of the Moon (A) which occur between 0h and 1h for every year from 1774 to 1772'. |
