Description | Daily meteorological observations made at Somerset House, generally made in the morning and afternoon. On printed sheets, with columns for the date, time [scored through and replaced with 'sixes', but largely blank after January], external and interior thermometers, barometer, hygrometer, rain, direction and strength of winds, and general weather remarks. A pasted-in note [p.30] describes 'a violent storm' on 30 July 1820. Monthly summaries of rain and general readings appear on pp.50-51.
