Description | Two sets of magnetic observations, undated, recorded from the forecastle compass and the standard quarter deck compass, aboard HMS Bloodhound sailing from Greenhithe, on the Thames Estuary, England. The two compass columns begin with the condition of the ship, and record compass bearings of the direction of the ship's head, 'with the marks in a line' while at anchor, and under steam.
