Description | Daily meteorological observations, initially made three times each day, but settling into four observations usually at 8.00am, 12.00 noon, 4.00pm and 8.00pm. Columns for the day and hour, barometer readings and difference, thermometer, thermometer in shade, hygrometer (thermometer, dew point and difference), temperature, extremes of heat and cold, rain gauge, wind direction and strength, and general weather remarks. At equinoxes and solstices there are half-hourly readings.
