TitleCopy letter from E K [Eric Keightley] Rideal, Davy Faraday Research Laboratory, Royal Institution, 21 Albermarle Street, London, to A C [Alfred Charles] Egerton, Burlington House, London
CreatorRideal; Sir; Eric Keightley (1890 - 1974); British chemist
RecipientEgerton; Sir; Alfred Charles Glyn (1886-1959); British chemist
Date30 December 1946
DescriptionRideal feels that if they are to hve a discussion on rheology at the Royal Society, then they ought to include things like thixotropy and dilatantcy, which would include the flow of paints and other suspensions, and possibly the flow of dust as well. There has been a great deal of work done on these non-Newtonian types of systems. He thinks that Jordan at the Paint Research Laboratory could provide names on paint research and presumes that Scott-Blair could do so as well, although 'I [Rideal] can't say that I am intrigued by his point of view'.
