Title | Letter from Humphrey Lloyd, Trinity College, Dublin to Charles James Buchanan Riddell |
Date | 5 February 1844 |
Description | Discussion on Riddell’s arrangements for instruments. Lloyd notes that Riddell’s arrangement is still superabundant. Lloyd describes how a large portion of the cost can be reduced. Lloyd discusses how [Johann von] Lamont’s method of deflection can be used with Lloyd’s arrangement.
Discussion on placement of the deflection magnet, and the deflecting bar. Lloyd would prefer deflecting with the occasional instrument. Lloyd suggests Riddell should describe the instruments in this new and improved form. |
