| Description | Monthly report of the superintendents of excavation. They are still occupied with the exploration of the North Sally Port. Some of the tunnels they have worked in are described as 'very narrow and troublesome'. There is a diagram to show the different layers of deposits, with accompanying descriptions of each layer. There have been bones found in the Cave-Earth layer, which are from cave mammals such as hyena, horse, and rhinoceros, but there is no indication of the presence of man. |
