Title | Letter from Jean-Baptiste Biot to Thomas Young, dated at Paris |
Date | 11 December 1802 |
Description | Addressed on behalf of the Société philomatique, announcing the election of Young and [Humphry] Davy as Foreign Correspondents. Wished to have met Young in Paris to discuss Dalton's theory of heat emitted by mechanical pressure of the air, as Biot believes it would have showed Young that it is in fact closer to the French calculation than what Young seems to believe. Thankful for Young sending his treatise on in exchange send a memoir on partial differences from the Memoires de l'Institut National de France. |
