Datec. 1799
DescriptionAutographed letter sent to Young in Wellbeck street, London. [Clarification: Dated on the basis of mention of Jesse Ramsden, d.1800]

Thanks him for sending scientific instruments, the scale is especially delicately divided and Wollaston hopes that his use of the instrument will not impair this accuracy.
Discusses optical results observed by candlelight. Relating to [Jesse] Ramsden being mortified by Wollaston finding an error in his dispersion, hopes that Young does not get as easily mortified otherwise Wollaston is likely "to be the death of you".
