Title | Letter from Christopher Henyk Diderich Buys Ballot, Utrecht to Edward Sabine |
Date | 4 April 1858 |
Description | Ballot expresses his unhappiness that the new Minister of Colonies has declined Ballot’s proposed magnetic survey and has not given his authority to buy instruments for that purpose. Ballot asks Sabine not to order the magnetical instruments he had previously asked for. Ballot expresses his confusion at the Ministers refusal, and comments visiting the Hague, and his efforts to plead his case in favour of the survey.
Ballot received two volumes of Mr [Adolph Theodor] Kupffer, and a volume of Dr [Humphrey] Lloyd regarding the cyclones in Ireland. |
