Date | 23 February 1884 |
Description | Letter from George Docwra Junior, miller and corn merchant, reports hearing of the British Army Captain Morgan arriving to Chittagong, and of an apprentice aboard, Mr Cecil Everett, who on 11 January wrote that 3 weeks ago he had observed large quantities of pumice stone 1000 miles from Java. Informs that the owners of the vessel, Messrs Gillison and Chadwick, Liverpool, will likely obtain a copy of the ship log for the Committee along with any observations from the Captain, and enquires whether to ask for it on the Society's behalf, or if they will directly approach them. |
