Title | Letter from Sir William Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, to A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe |
Creator | Huggins; Sir; William (1824-1910); British astronomer |
Date | 8 April 1901 |
Description | States that any day other than 15 or 19 April would be suitable for the conference. Huggins has also received a letter from [Leonard] Darwin. 'He thinks that much will depend upon our "attitude". What should be our attitude?'. Wonders if the Council could justify making alterations to the Instructions agreed by the Joint Committee, and believes it is not possible 'to alter sufficiently to satisfy Markham without thowing over Gregory'. Notes in a postscript that Markham is proposing a 'radical change of plan practically doing away with a landing party'. |
