Title | Letter from J [John] Brown, Edenberry House, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Brown; John (1850-1911); British manufacturer |
Date | 10 November 1895 |
Description | Brown has been to Paris and St. Omer to see a mutual friend. He had intended to visit Larmor but could not fit it in. He found Larmor's paper waiting for him and it is beyond him. He refers to one line on p.741 suggesting an interesting phenomenon and asks for details. He saw Perry in London, full of his tram, which Brown thinks expensive and inefficient. He has read Whetham's book and shall do so again more carefully, noting some 'queer things' in it, giving page examples. Brown's old experiments were more definite and he asks if Larmor thinks that Whetham is 'an enthusiast or a careful man'. |
