Title | Letter from J [John] Brown, Longhurst, Dunmurry, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Brown; John (1850-1911); British manufacturer |
Date | 6 February 1897 |
Description | It would give him pleasure to help Larmor's brother. He asks if it is an engineering role or a contractor's post he is looking for. L.L. Macassey is chief engineer to the Board - he and Brown fought about peat - but Brown knows the secretary and could interview him. John Martin has some contracts too and Brown could be of use there. It was a great mistake that Larmor was not at the recent celebrations. Comments on Lord Kelvin's knowledge of ionic pressure. Brown notes the death of 'Baron' Fitzgerald, 'a fine man at all times'. |
