| Title | Letter from Robert S [Stawell] Ball, Observatory, Cambridge, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Ball; Sir Robert Stawell (1840-1913); British astronomer |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | n.d. ['Sunday'] |
| Description | Thanking Larmor for his kindness. Ball read Larmor's paper in Nature with interest, as far as he could understand it. He knew Macullagh's papers and it was a pleasure to see Larmor's vindication of him. It was a 'magnificent idea' to attack the problem in the way he did, even though the nature of the mechanism is not understood. |
