| Creator | Stirling; Sir James (1836-1916); British judge |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 25 February 1914 |
| Description | Thanking Larmor for his letter of yesterday. Larmor has now 'hit the nail on the head' about [George Gabriel] Stokes's equations 6 and 7, and Stirling gives a physical deduction. He is sorry to hear of Larmor's account of himself and hopes he will take a holiday. Stirling's note has gone to [Arthur] Schuster. He asks Larmor not to trouble to write further. |
