| Description | He agrees with Larmor's suggestions on his hot platinum paper ['The effect of hydrogen on the discharge of negative electricity from hot platinum'] and will send it on the the R.S. [Royal Society]. He has worked through the algebra again in one place where he thinks Larmor is not correct, and he supplies his working, wondering if he should add a note on this. He has now had enough of hot platinum for now, but has put a small selection of results in the paper from his books full of observations. He is grateful to Larmor for making necessary alterations to get it published. Wilson notes his current activities, including on postive ions, and theory of white light. He has worked out the distribution of energy in the spectrum by statistical method, but the result does not agree with observed distribution. He asks Larmor to help with a problem of average energy per cm. in a simple train of light waves. |
