CreatorWoodward; Robert Simpson (1849-1924); American civil engineer, physicist, and mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date30 September 1908
DescriptionHe thanks Larmor for the letter sent from Belfast, expressing interest in [George Ellery] Hale's work. He agrees that they are in the experimental stage, but thinks that they may overlook theoretical considerations as a result. He hopes that Larmor could have enough of a holiday to visit Mount Wilson and to participate in a conference on solar physics. He recalls Larmor's very pleasant visit to them in Washington. Woodward may come to England next year.
