Description | Huggins and William Huggins have enclosed a gift of bookplates, designed by Margaret Huggins with views of Tintagel and Corfe Castle. She expresses her joy at how interesting she feels her life is currently. However, she wishes 'that there were more promise of greatness among the younger men' and gives the example of Dr Mond, as 'neither of his songs has even half the Father's intellectual power!'. She expresses her grief at Mond's death and that he, in her opinion, has not gotten the appreciation he deserves. She agrees with Larmor that the Jewish funeral ritual was impressive. She looks forward to hearing Larmor's thoughts on the [William] Herschel project. |
