| Description | He thanks Larmor for the details he sent and it woudl have been too much joy to have been medalled alongside Rayleigh and Fitzgerald. He thinks that [George Francis] Fitzgerald will rejoice that [John] Kerr has got it first [the Royal Medal], as does Lodge, because of his age. He is glad that Larmor is staying on Council [of the Royal Society]. Lodge is not as clear as Larmor about Gardinerl he would like to have seen Bateson recognised, but 'the Zoologists are down on him'. The Darwin Medal awarded to 'K.P.' [Karl Pearson] is an extraordinary thing. He wonders why it should not have gone to Weldon or Poulton, but realises they were on Council. He wonders why [Alfred Bray] Kempe was made Treasurer and apologises for his many queries. |
