| Title | Letter from J [John] Joly, Somerset House, Temple Road, Dublin, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Joly; John (1857-1933); Irish geologist and physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 10 March [1908] |
| Description | The notice of W E [William Ernest] Wilson's death in the papers stated that the funeral was private and therefore Joly took no action. He sent a telegram to Mrs Wilson as soon as he received Larmor's letter asking about the arrangements, and the Royal Society's desire to send a representative. The answer stated that the funeral had taken place that morning. Joly notes their sense of loss of 'the loveable nature of the man'. |
