Description | He thanks Larmor for his 'admirable appreciation' of Lord Kelvin in Belfast; 'nothing could have well been finer, both scientifically, and humanly'. The Belfast newsletter showed the statue, by a sculptor of genius, Jack believes, since he had little or no knowledge of Kelvin in life. Jack was distressed by what James Bottomley had telegraphed about Lady Kelvin's state of health, but he hopes that the telegram sent to her about the unveiling will help. He does not think that Mrs James Bottomley will have seen the statue, but hopes that the late memorials will have been appreciated as worthy tributes. |
