| Description | Lamb will see what alteration might be made to the refection problem when the sheet is back from the printer. He explains this with a diagram, showing two sections, A and B in the region of a plane, with a small distance between them compared to a wavelength. He notes a surface rise and the need for a solution away from peculiarities. He has more slips, up to sheet 20, where he will stop for now. He cannot rewrite the tidal theory section now, and this ought to be done before sending to the printers. He has made out one thing which had been bothering him for a year or so and must digest this before going to print. He has been looking at his climbing equipment for going abroad and he thinks that Larmor might have some maps. Lamb has considered alterative routes, but these need discussing, and he hopes Larmor will turn his attention to geography.. |
