TitleLetter from Herbert McLeod, 37 Montague Road, Richmond, Surrey, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorMcLeod; Herbert (1841-1923); British chemist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date1 August 1912
DescriptionIt was disappointing not to see Larmor as he wanted to tell him how things stood [with the Catalogue of Scientific Papers]. He wanted to speak about the difficulties of headlines with so many small sections. McLeod has written to Clay to say he will be away in August and no-one at the Royal Society can attend to the proofs. One proof came in last night but it was hopeless. The list of serials is quite complete, except for the Royal Society of Edinburgh's. He has hoped to look at doubtful papers in Construction and the Theory of Primary Cells while in Eastbourne, but due to Miss Bremner's illness he had to deal with her portion of the proofs. He notes what he will take to Eastbourne, and Miss Bremner's instructing staff in checking slips, including difficulties in identifying authors. Watts has sent in the last of the Chemistry slips and a disturbing letter asking for other work. McLeod's oldest boy has been awarded an Associateship in the Royal School of Mines, and is starting for Canada.
