| Description | He has Larmor's note and agrees on the question of the propriety of devoting portions of the Government Grant to copying meteorological observations. He wonders if Council of the Royal Society might take steps to ensure the collection and publication of such records made all over the Empire. He finds it 'disgraceful' that Portugal can do this properly, but the British do not. Pearson had to hunt for returns from the various Government departments, and even then what could be procured was worthless. A general publication of observations would be of great value. |
