Title | Letter from Arthur W [William] Rücker, 19 Gledhow Gardens, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Rücker, Sir Arthur William (1848–1915), British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 5 July 1901 |
Description | He is glad that Larmor intends to take a holiday, he must not go on when run down. He is in the thick of a fight about the Principalship of the University of London. He agrees with Larmor that he should say little of nothing about Lippmann. The final form of the Address must be complete by the end of the month and he thanks Larmor for taking so much interest in it. He would like to send Larmor the proof in early August and apart from criticism, he would like to know if Larmor thinks it adequate to the occasion. He thinks that Larmor may consider he has gone too far in insisting on the physical reality of atoms. |
