Title | Letter from J H [John Henry] Poynting, 10 Ampton Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Poynting; John Henry (1852-1914); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 21 February 1906 |
Description | He supposes that [William Robert] Bousfield wants the Philosophical Transactions [for the paper 'Ionic size in relation to the physical properties of aqueous solutions'] and Poynting would have recommended that. He would have much more chance of being read in the Proceedings. Poynting has no objections to Bensfield seeing his letter, not recalling any disrespectful remarks in it, but if there are Larmor should black them out. He discusses liquid viscosity, thinking that transient molecular aggregates account for matters, but that gas 'wandering across any plane must also come in'. He is sending back the paper and report by this post. |
