Title | Letter from Charles Wheatstone, 20 Conduit Street, to [Robert Were Fox] |
Date | 3 June 1838 |
Description | Is sorry to have missed Fox, who did not think to call at College instead of Conduit Street. There, Wheatstone could have shown him developments in the electric telegraph, now being laid down on the Great Western Railway. In a few years, the distance between Falmouth and London will be annihilated, he comments. Still hopes to see Fox tomorrow if his departure is delayed. |
