Description | Hopes that Gladstone has received the solar telescope and gives news of another box he has sent. Lyon Playfair and Professor Tait are drawing up a report on Brewster's claim to have invented the dioptric light. Requests that he may use part of a letter by Gladstone and gives some chronology of his early work on the subject. Comments on the 'remarkable circumstance' that his paper on burning instruments should have been in the library of the Institute. He will be in London on the 28th to present an address to the Prince. |
