Description | Thanks Brady for his paper from the Bay of Bengal, and apologizes for the delay in doing so. Sends notes [not present] on Australian foraminifera, including a new species which he hopes will be of interest. Has a large amount of material, recent and fossil, from all parts of Australia. Feels that this position, so far from other fellow writers, puts him at a disadvantadge in respect to determination and description of new species. Is dependent on the aid of friends at a distance in pursuing research. Feels that it is not a fair thing to impose himself without an adequate recognition, and therefore suggests that he does all the drudgery and the making of sections where required, and Brady would do the research on more obscure or such foraminifera that might turn up, and them they would write joint papers [underlined] on Australian foraminifera. Says that the material he has spent two years on has proved to be exceptionally rich, but his work on the species is in very limited numbers. Believes his work would save Brady a great deal of time, and in turn Brady could render him assistance in a way that is absolutely necessary to him. Thinks it better that he publishes in Australia, and does not believe he will find any difficulties in doing so. |
