| Description | The honour he has received from the Royal Society makes him ambitious of giving a mark of gratitude. He encloses a letter he has received from the Reverend Philip Skelton, giving an account of caterpillars that were numerous in the locality some years ago. He has pasted a piece of their web on the first leaf. Skelton is his neighbour and a man of sense and learning. If Folkes requires further particulars, Boyle would provide them. Land carriage to Dublin is very uncertain and therefore he is sending the package by post and asks that Folkes should notify him when it has arrived, by writing to Caledon, near Tynan, in Ireland.

John Earl of Orrery to Martin Folkes Esquire, Pr.R.S. inclosing an account of the Cornel-Catterpillar, contained in a letter from the Reverend Mr. Philip Skelton to his Lordship', Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, v.45, no.487, pp.281-296.
