Description | 33rd Guthrie Lecture on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Physical Society. He begins with a con fession that he did not think 75 years was worthy of celebration, but was convinced otherwise. He explains that the celebration of Sir Charles Guthrie is appropriate as he greatly influenced the founding of the society, but also as his daughter Elfrida Guthrie is in attendance. While he mentions his experiments of fog clearance with the Petroleum Warfare Department, his topic for the evening concerns the behaviour of air heated artificially. Writes he has deposited copies of his fog clearance report to the Society's library. Includes a note on the Physical Society letterhead, that this paper will be appearing in the May issue of the Proceedings vol 63A, p417. Also includes 1 page of notes. |
