OtherInfo | It is theorised that Castell's connection to some Parliamentary commissioners through his sister's marriage prevented him from being persecuted during the Civil War and Interregnum despite his loyalty to the Crown. Shortyly after the Restoration, he published a collection of pomes, 'Sol Angliae Oriens' in honour of Charles II and with a request to encourage the printing and sale of his 'Lexicon', which was causing to lose money. While he paid his subscription to the Society regularly, he was not active in its meetings or work. |
