The Treasurer, John Evans, instructs him to say that he does not think it is worth while for Messrs Haden to alter their letter as the Council of the Royal Society will certainly not be satisfied unless Talyor is. The Treasurer has no objection to the alteration if Talyor wishes it. The Treasurer accepts Messrs Haden's estimate and trusts that the work will be put in hand with all speed. Rix is writing to Messrs Haden to inform them that the matter is placed under Taylor's control. Rix returns herewith Haden's letter to Taylor of 25 November [not attached]. |
