Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Henry Hardinge Samuel Cunynghame, Home Office, Whitehall, S.W. |
Date | 29 April 1895 |
Description | Cunynghame's letter of 25 April was on the same day laid before the President and Council of the Royal Society. In reply they have much pleasure in giving to the Secretary of State such assistance as they can in the matter in question, and the most suitable method of doing so seemed to them that they should ask certain of their Fellows to act on behalf of the Society and to place their services at his disposal. The Society have requested Mr C V Boys and Mr Harold B Dixon to undertake the duty.
The problem seeming a somewhat complex one, it seemed desirable to ask the assistance of more than one Fellow; but the President and Council would suggest that the Secretary of State should in the first instance communicate with Professor C V Boys. |
