Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor Sydney Howard Vines, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 5 May 1897 |
Description | Percy Groom's paper 'On the Leaves of Lathraea squamaria [toothwort] and of some allied Scrophulariaceae' which was communicated by Vines for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' was referred for a decision to the Chairman of the Sectional Committee, who reports the decision of the two referees to the effect that the paper is not suitable for the Royal Society but that the author should be advised to submit to the Linnean Society. This is especially the case as it is supplementary to a paper already published in the Linnean Society's journal.
Foster communicated this decision to Vines, under Standing Order 31. It is open to Vines to withdraw the paper upon the understanding expressed in writing, that it is to be regarded as not having been communicated to the Society at all. |
