Description | The Royal Geographical Society are invited to nominate four gentlemen to form, with four Fellows of the Royal Society nominated by the Council, a Committee for the purpose of considering the propriety of urging the government about an expedition to explore the Antarctic Ocean.
Fellows proposed are: Dr John Murray Dr P L Sclater Sir J D Hooker Sir Archibald Geikie
The President and Officers of the Royal Society should also be ex officio members. It has been decided that it is undesirable to nominate Admiral Sir W J L Wharton as one of the representatives due to his official position. |
