Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Captain Edmond Herbert Grove-Hills, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 18 December 1899 |
Description | It is a matter between Hills and his Committee, as to whether he answers the Society's letter without summoning the Committee. The information Hills has promptly provided seems to answer most of their questions. Queries if Hill has resources other than those supplied by the Government Grant. Asks this as he notes that Hills intended to spend £300 on instruments, which was apparently additional to the £500 asked for. Does not know if this is important as regards Lockyer's application but wants to be clear on all points before the matter comes again before Council. |
