Description | 'Dear Sir, The Secretary of State for India desires the advice of the Observatories Committee as to candidates suitable for consideration for the Assistant Directorship [of] the Kodaikanal Observatory; Salary Rs. 500-50-750 per museum with free quarters. It is desired that the selected candidate should, if possible, join at Kodaikanal early next cold weather, so that he may learn the duties before Mr Michie Smith retired in January next. It has been decided that the Observatory is to be confined for the present to solar researches. It is proposed that the Observatories Committee meet about the middle of October, and members are requested to suggest a date.' |
