| Description | 'I am directed to inform you that the Gassiot Committee of the Royal Society at their last meeting considered applications for the vacant post of Superintendent at Eskdalemuir Observatory, and nominated Mr Lewis F Richardson for the position. Mr Richardson's age is 31; he is married and he informed the Committee that he could take up the duties of the post after giving three weeks notice to his present Employers. I enclose the papers which Mr Richardson sent in in connection with his application.' |
